On November 22, 2016, I gave the monthly Power Up Lecture at a municipal junior high school in Saitama City. There were three main parts to the lecture. The first part focused on the contribution the school made to the Global Studies program by examining the school’s work. The second part explored principles of implementing Global Studies through with examples from three programs (units) in each grade. And the third part of the lecture was an open discussion. Freshmen Teachers’ Training: Team Teaching with ALTs
On August 18th 2016 I gave a workshop to the 2016 class of Global Studies Teachers (Japanese English Teachers). These teachers were selected during the 2015 teacher selection process. Power Up Lecture: Team Teaching In Global Studies
On January 22nd 2016 I gave the Power Up Lecture (PUL) to group of English teachers with between 1 and 5 years of teaching experience at the Saitama Municipal Institute of Education. Power Up Lectures are a monthly workshop open to all teachers. This PUL was the first in a series planned on the upcoming implementation of Global Studies. Continue reading
